Michael S. White is vice president of business development and operations for Vizient Southern States. He started with the company in 2000 and has direct responsibility for developing new business lines; leading the operations of the Phoenix Committed Insurance Program; providing direct liaison services to member hospitals; and facilitating member councils of CFOs, human resource leaders, revenue cycle and managed care executives, physician practice leaders and other member professionals. Mr. White also provides executive leadership to Vizient Southern States and Phoenix Health Care Management Services, Inc.
Prior to joining Vizient Southern States, Mr. White was vice president at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Georgia where he had direct management responsibilities for managed care contracting and physician hospital organization (PHO) operations, marketing, public relations, physician services, strategic planning, community outreach and education services, women’s health services, and foundation fundraising. Other positions that Mr. White has held include regional vice president for The SunHealth Alliance in Georgia and Alabama and CEO for Cannon Memorial Hospital in Pickens, South Carolina.
Mr. White has a master of business administration in health and hospital administration from the University of Florida and a bachelor of science in management from the University of Florida’s College of Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is a certified healthcare professional (CHFP) with the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
