This conference was held last month at the Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Pt. Clear, Alabama. Twenty-one Vizient Southern States’ member organizations were represented, and 33 supplier vendors participated in the Exhibit Fair.
The purpose of this event was to bring members together to learn from each other and share what has been successful or challenging at their hospitals in the areas of pharmacy, supply chain and accreditation. Both members and subject matter experts from Vizient, Inc., presented on the topics of accreditation and regulatory issues; supply chain challenges with product disruption and standard operating procedures for contracting with medical device companies; infectious diseases and biosimilars; innovative solutions on total joint replacement procedures; substance use disorder; organizational transformation; and the impact of new medical technologies on health care.
